Dear Kerr Family,
Due to the spike in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations in Allegheny County and the health department recommendation that people not meet in groups larger than 25, the Kerr Session has voted to have worship ONLINE ONLY for the next two Sundays (July 5 and July 12). Our hope is to resume both in person and online worship formats beginning July 19.
This summer in worship we are walking through some of our favorite Bible stories and the Lord brought the story of the woman at the well (John 4) to my heart this morning. Jesus and the woman have a conversation about where people worship and the woman comes to understand that worship is not about a place but rather about the One who can bring true nourishment to the mind, body, heart, and soul, the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am so thankful for the ways that the Lord is alive and at work at Kerr, giving renewal to our lives, hope in these uncertain days, and a deep love for one another. I am grateful to the Kerr session for their prayerful spirits and willingness to find ways to worship in all places while prioritizing the health and safety of our community and first responders.
To join us on Zoom tomorrow, click the Sunday Prayer and Praise link on the Kerr Church homepage at 11 AM. See me or any elder for the password. You can also call in and join by phone at 929-205-6099. The meeting ID is 901 101 259. The full service will be available on the website and on facebook starting Sunday morning.
Blessings to you on this holiday weekend. May you be safe and healthy.
Grace & Peace,
