This service of worship was created for Sunday, May 3, 2020 by Kerr Presbyterian Church. Here is the song sheet for the day.
Let us open by reading the 23rd Psalm.
Let us continue in worship by singing Just a Closer Walk as pre-recorded for our March 29 service by Rev. Dr. Sheldon Sorge and Rev. Tammy Wiens.
Elder Scott Davis has a special Junior Sermon for us today in memory of our friend Lynn Keitzer (February 24, 1938 – April 25, 2020):
Our Scripture reading for today is Acts 2:42-47.
Our Gospel reading is John 10:1-10.
Here is the sermon written by Rev. KJ Norris on our lectionary Scriptures.
Part of worship is the giving of our offerings. There are many kinds of offerings. We can give God:
- Our time (as you did already today!)
- Our talent (by serving in the community especially in this time of social isolation–consider making a phone call or writing a card or contact Pastor KJ to be involved with next week’s online worship)
- Our treasure (consider giving to Kerr Presbyterian Church online during this time when we are not gathering in person or send a check to Kerr Presbyterian Church)
Listen to Faith Brown, Carrie Nery, and Lana Slebrich give an offering to God through song. This song, “The Old Rugged Cross,” is gifted in memorial to Lynn Keitzer who was scheduled to sing it at Kerr Presbyterian Church.
Take a moment to say a prayer of dedication to the Lord.
May the peace of God which surpasses all understanding guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
