This service of worship was created for Kerr Presbyterian Church on August 2, 2020.
Psalm 100 used with permission from Sermon Central.
(Prayer of the day from the Common Book of Prayers)
O God, giver of life and health,
your Son Jesus Christ has called us
to hunger and thirst to see right prevail.
Refresh us with your grace,
that we may not be weary in well-doing;
for the sake of him who meets all our needs,
Jesus Christ our Savior,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and forever.
It Is Well With My Soul by Horatio Spafford and Philip Bliss.
Today’s Junior Sermon for our young people from Scott Davis.
Our Scripture reading is 2 Kings 6:8-23
This week’s sermon is “The Third Way” given by Rev. KJ Norris.
Part of worship is the giving of our offerings. There are many kinds of offerings. We can give God:
- Our time (as you did already today!)
- Our talent (by serving in the community especially in this time of physical distancing–consider making a phone call or writing a card or contact Pastor KJ to be involved with next week’s online worship)
- Our treasure (consider giving to Kerr Presbyterian Church online or sending a check to Kerr Presbyterian Church)
Whom Shall I Fear by Chris Tomlin
Benediction (from Romans 8:35-39)
Who will separate us from the love of of Christ?
I am convinced that neither death nor life
nor angels nor rulers
nor things present nor things to come
nor height nor depth
nor anything else in all creation
will be able to separate us
from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
